What "high limit" means at a live table
Every live table has a minimum and a maximum bet. Standard tables are set up for everyday stakes, while high limit or VIP tables raise both, sometimes with private or semi-private seating. Some studios run dedicated VIP rooms; Evolution's "Salon Privé" range is the best-known example, where a single player can have the table to themselves.
The exact limits vary by studio, by table and by casino, so the only reliable figure is the one displayed on the table in your lobby. What doesn't change is the game maths: a higher limit changes how much you can win or lose per hand, not the house edge.
The games that suit bigger bets
Blackjack
Live blackjack has one of the lowest house edges in the casino, often around 0.5% with good basic strategy and favourable rules. Watch for 3:2 blackjack payouts (avoid 6:5) and check whether the dealer stands or hits on soft 17. Seat-limited tables fill up quickly at peak hours; "infinite" formats let unlimited players bet on the same hand.
Baccarat
Popular with high rollers for good reason: it's simple, fast and the Banker bet carries a house edge of about 1.06%. Speed baccarat and squeeze variants change the pace and the theatre, not the odds. Our baccarat guide explains the rules and why the Tie bet is best avoided.
Roulette
Choose single-zero European or French tables over American double-zero wherever possible; the house edge is 2.70% on European tables against 5.26% on American ones. Multiplier versions such as "lightning" formats pay less on regular numbers to fund the occasional huge multiplier.
Game shows
Big-wheel shows are entertaining, but they generally have higher house edges than the classic tables and very high volatility. Treat them as a side dish rather than the main course when you're betting larger amounts.
Studios and where to find them
Live casino quality depends heavily on the studio. HolySpin's live lobby includes tables from major providers such as Pragmatic Play Live and Playtech, alongside roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker variants and more than 20 game shows. Other casinos on our top 10 list carry Evolution, Ezugi and others; the names shown on each table tell you who is running it.
Live games and bonuses
This is where many players get caught out. At most casinos, live dealer bets count little or nothing towards wagering requirements. At HolySpin they count 0%, and RNG table games count 10%. If live tables are what you mainly play, taking a deposit bonus usually doesn't make sense: you'd be locking your balance into wagering you can't clear at the tables. Declining the bonus and playing with cash keeps things simple.
Bankroll and table habits
- Size bets to your session budget. A common rule of thumb is no more than 2–5% of the session budget on a single hand.
- Decide your stop points in advance, both for losses and for wins.
- Mind the clock. Live games move quickly; reality-check reminders help.
- Check your connection. Most studios have rules for disconnections, usually settling the hand by standard play, but it's better not to rely on them.
- Be courteous in chat. Dealers are people, and chat is moderated.
And as always: set deposit limits before you start, not after. The tools on our responsible gambling page take a couple of minutes to set up.
